In the very last episode of the Queen’s Gambit, Beth is approached by the two nice looking ladies from Christian Crusade with a scripted statement for her to speak to the press against communism and “Marxist-Lennist facts.” With their money and support as a hammer, the ladies’ request comes off rather coercive and manipulative. Kudos to Beth, she simply refuses the request and candidly provides the reason: “Because it’s fucking nonsense.”
